Both necros and warriors can farm. You're not locked into your secondary profession as you can change that later.
Level 8 is hardly enough to really try out the character. You have more than one character slot, why not also make a warrior and see how you like it? And really, please, stop asking everyone else to make up your mind for you. |

I'm... assuming you're new to the game, so I'm going to tell you up front that the last thing you should be worried about is farming. Play the game for the game, make phat lewtz later. You'll be worse off if you try farming before you understand game mechanics and skills.
Either way, Verene is right, you've got multiple character slots so make one of both. There's a world of difference between those two professions, but both are excellent in their own regards. Play both and see what you like in general PvE settings, then start buffing up a character's skill repertoire and make him your "main." Play some higher-end areas when you are ready for it, learn what builds are good, and LASTLY farm if you have a few spare minutes. |

There is a real big difference between a necro and warrior. Warrior got solid armor and kill things with a weapon, and can tanke many hits..
Necro has almost paper thin armor and kill using spells, and will die fast if hit by enemy weapons. As said, both can farm, what to choose should depend on your playstyle and how you like things. Try them both out, let then get to lvl20 and maxed armor, then test them in various situations. Gl on whatever you choose |

they can both farm, necros are used in UWSC, so they are good at getting ectos. but to do UW you need a lot of knowledge of game mechanics and UW, so its best to keep playing until you get a handle of everything. Warriors are pretty awesome as well. If you have space for two characters make both and try them out. Also, A-net is talking about nerfing SF which might make UWSC impossible, then the warriors and/or elementalists will get the job of tanking, in either situations necros will still be useful.
